The Karyvin clan were a duplicitous aristocratic family who came from old money and owned a large amount of property on the planet Akiva. Their holdings included several islands in the planet's Southern Archipelago, crystal mines in the Northern Jungles and an old plantation known as the Karyvinhouse Plantation in the city of Myrra where they would sometimes stay. The family supported the Galactic Empire during the Galactic Civil War, with all of their children being sent straight to Imperial officers' schools and skipping the standard Imperial Academies. During the Rebellion on Akiva, the family allowed the Empire to land two TIE/ln space superiority starfighter on the rooftop of their plantation, one of which was stolen by the New Republic pilot Norra Wexley.[1]
