John Goodson is a model maker and digital artist who worked as a concept modeler for the 2002 film Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones, for which he created a scale model of the XJ-6 airspeeder.[2] Goodson stood in as Mace Windu for actor Samuel L. Jackson for a shot in the film, chosen for the role because he fit into Jackson's costume. Goodson recalled in 2021 that the scene likely involved the character speaking with Yoda, but described his own part as being "basically a mannequin."[1]

Goodson later lended his talents to the Disney+ streaming series The Mandalorian, which included creating models for the Razor Crest and Gideon's light cruiser. For the episode "The Siege," he worked on several tests of the introductory shot of the light cruiser with Industrial Light & Magic executive creative director John Knoll, fine tuning the model's design until both men were satisfied. After over twenty years with ILM, Goodson departed from the company in 2019.[1]
