Located in the Jedi Temple on[1] the planet[2] Coruscant,[1] the Jedi Temple dojo[3] was a practice hall for members of the Jedi Order. Jedi younglings were trained in the dojo in the art of lightsaber combat. Jedi would work on simple forms,[1] against training remotes,[4] or against each other. Before beginning, Jedi would bow to each other.[5]

The dojo was an wide, open space with room for Jedi to move around and duel. Seating was included in the form of wooden benches for those who wanted to observe training. Jedi Masters would attend sessions to assess progress, and sometimes, a Master would attend with their Padawan to let them witness another Jedi in training.[4] The walls of the dojo were also wood and were decorated with simple scrolls featuring Jedi emblems or artwork as well as with racks of lightsabers.[5] There were multiple entrances to the room.[4][5]

During the Clone Wars, the younglings Caleb Dume, Sammo Quid, and Tai Uzuma trained there with Grand Master Yoda.[1] The Jedi Padawan Ahsoka Tano visited the dojo on multiple occasions for training exercises, once with Jedi Master Tera Sinube to train against new training remotes that were designed to simulate battle droids. Masters Yoda, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Mace Windu, and Plo Koon observed the session, with Tano's master, the Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker arrived late. Tano was put through the paces by Sinube and performed well.[4] Some time later, Tano would return to the dojo with Skywalker to practice wielding two lightsabers in the style of Jar'Kai. Yoda would arrive and ask to see Tano's progress, and although Tano was nervous, having just begun practicing with two blades, Yoda wanted to fight her himself. After Tano struggled, Yoda encouraged her to let her personality fuel her fighting style, which helped Tano's confidence.[5]

Many years after the fall of the Jedi Order, the Jedi survivor Kanan Jarrus,[6] formerly Caleb Dume,[7] experienced a vision of the Jedi Temple dojo while in the Jedi Temple on[6] the planet[8] Lothal. He approached a Jedi Temple Guard and asked for knowledge on how to defeat Darth Vader, but the Guard only warned him that trying to fight would result in his death and cause his apprentice, Ezra Bridger, to become a servant of the dark side. Jarrus would battle the guard, as well as two others that appeared, grabbing another lightsaber from the wall and fighting with both blades. When Jarrus began to lose the fight and the guard began to taunt him about not being able to protect Bridger, Jarrus realized that the guard was right. Sitting on the floor of the dojo, he and admitted that the could not protect Bridger forever, not even from himself. Jarrus accepted defeat, but instead of striking him down, the guard, who had taken the form of The Grand Inquisitor, knighted Jarrus as a Jedi Knight. As the dojo began to collapse, Jarrus' vision ended and he returned to the Lothal Temple.[6]
