"Friends, here's the next part: fried pom-cakes with spider seed and these funny little scale flakes from Ithorian cactuses, which I recently discovered add a most delicate flavor."
―Pop Teeno[1]

The Ithorian cactus was a type of cactus. The Iktotchi Pop Teeno, who ran a canteen in the Republic Defense Coalition mobile launch and repair station added scale flakes from Ithorian cactuses to fried pom-cakes.[1] In 228 BBY,[2] Teeno served the cakes to the humans Jordanna Sparkburn, Sylvestri Yarrow, Mirro Lox, and Amadeo Azzazzo. According to Teeno, the flakes added a delicate flavor and went well with the fluff of the cakes. The Ithorian cactus partially shared its name with the Ithorian species.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

Ithorian Cactuses were mentioned in the young-adult novel The High Republic: Defy the Storm, written by Tessa Gratton and Justina Ireland and published in 2024 as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's[1] Phase III.[3]
