An Imperial hunter was an individual who tracked down former Imperial war criminals who had gone into hiding to avoid facing justice.[1]
In the months after the Battle of Endor, the New Republic commissioned Imperial hunters to bring in Imperials such as Perwin Gedde to face justice in the New Republic Tribunal.[2]
Near the end of the Galactic Civil War, the New Republic commissioned Alphabet Squadron to track down and destroy the 204th Imperial Fighter Wing, a lethal Imperial fighter wing.[3]
