A sentient species, the Ilosians hailed from the agricultural world Ilos. Millennia before the reign of the Galactic Empire, the Ilosians settled many nearby worlds before becoming engulfed in Hutt Space and enslaved by the Hutts. The Ilosians, however, preserved relatively more freedom than other species in the Hutts' servitude.

Society and culture[]

The Ilosians were a sentient species native to the Hutt Space world Ilos, which was a bland agriworld with numerous cities. The species exhibited both economic clout and technological prowess.[1]

Ilosians in the galaxy[]

Ilos-TEA

The Ilosians were native to Ilos.

Millennia before the reign of the Galactic Empire,[1] which began in 19 BBY,[2] the Ilosians settled hundreds of nearby worlds. Ilos Minor was one such colony, and the hyperlane known as the Ilosian Spur also linked Ilos to the agricultural world Alee. The latter was home to the sentient Vippits but also hosted a large Ilosian minority[1] who were mostly employed as farmhands and agricultural workers.[3] Ilos Minor in turn served as a transfer point for goods transported from the planets of the Ilosian Spur.[1]

Eventually, Hutt Space, the realm of the Hutt species, grew to encompass the Ilosian worlds, and the latter species was enslaved; however, their skills allowed them to preserve relatively more freedom than other species subjugated by the Hutts. During the Yuuzhan Vong War of 25 ABY29 ABY, the extra-galactic Yuuzhan Vong invaded Hutt Space, and they were believed to have inflicted heavy suffering upon the Ilosians.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

The Ilosians were first mentioned in The Essential Atlas, a 2009 reference book written by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry.[1]
