A hydrodome was a device that could be used to grow small herbs.[1] By 4 ABY,[2] the woman Esmelle kept a hydrodome on her kitchen table and used it to grow the herbs sinthan seed and heartweed in her home on the Outer Rim planet Akiva. When the bounty hunter Jas Emari and the former Imperial loyalty officer Sinjir Rath Velus visited the home to converse, they moved Esmelle's hydrodome off her table so that they could use the space to make a makeshift map.[1]
