This article is about the moon. You may be looking for its native species, the Hiitians, also known as the Hiit.

Hiit was an Outer Rim Territories moon located in the Corporate Sector. It was the homeworld of the Hiitians, who made first contact with the off-world Trianii Rangers at some point by around 1500 BBY. In 5 BBY, the Hiit was annexed by the Corporate Sector Authority.

Description[]

Hiit was a desolate[1] terrestrial[2] moon that orbited the gas giant–type planet Maal. It was situated in the Hiit system, a part of the Outer Rim Territories' Corporate Sector, and lay at the intersection of the hyperlanes known as the Authority Guardian Corridor and the Trianii Shunt, which connected it to the Atchorb and Ninn systems and the Fibuli and Lythos systems, respectively.[1]

History[]

At some point by approximately 1500 BBY, the Hiitian species of Hiit made first contact with the Trianii Rangers of the off-world Trianii species, after which millions of the moon's natives eventually traveled into the wider galaxy. Although the first contact was peaceful,[1] at some point before the establishment of the Galactic Empire[3] in 19 BBY,[1] the Hiitian raider group known as the Hiitite Ravagers was formed, going on to engage in conflicts against the Trianii Rangers.[3] The Corporate Sector Authority annexed Hiit in 5 BBY, with the Hiitians consequently having warily hostile attitudes toward that government.[1]

Inhabitants[]

Hiit was the homeworld of the sentient Hiitian species,[1] members of which were also known as the Hiit.[4]

Behind the scenes[]

Hiit was introduced in the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry, which placed it in grid square S-3.[1]
