The Hewett sector was located in the Mid Rim and contained the Dalon, Hewett, Mackar, and Vectinia systems. The Dalon and Mackar systems included the astronomical objects Moer and Mackar, respectively. Mackar was the original homeworld of the sentient Frid species, and the Hewett system was home to the sentients of the same name. By 12 ABY, the Hewett sector was a part of the New Republic, and a battle was fought between that government and the Imperial Remnant in the Hewett system that year.
Description[]
The Hewett sector was located in the New Territories portion of the Mid Rim.[1] By 0 ABY, it bordered the Hollan sector Coreward, the M'shinni and Ottega sectors spinward, and the Strabin sector in the trailing direction. The Hewett sector also formed a part of the Mid Rim's Rimward border with the Outer Rim Territories' Noonian sector.[7]
The northern section of the Hewett sector contained the Hewett and Mackar systems, and the Dalon and Vectinia systems lay in the sector's southern portion.[8] A hyperlane running through the Hewett and Vectinia systems connected the sector to the Tartaglia system in the Hollan sector as well as the Noonian sector's Er'Kit system.[6]
History[]
By 12 ABY, the Hewett sector formed a part of the New Republic's border with the Outer Rim Territories–based Imperial Remnant. That year, the latter's forces triumphed over the New Republic military in a confrontation in the Hewett system.[6]

The Hewett sector world Mackar was the original homeworld of the Frid species.
The Vectinia system was home to creatures known as Vectinian spiders,[5][9] and the Hewett system was the point of origin of[4][5] the sentient Hewett species. Hewett senators represented their system in the Senate of the Galactic Republic[4] by 32 BBY.[10]
The Dalon and Mackar systems each contained[2] a terrestrial astronomical object: Moer[11] and the water world Mackar, respectively.[3] Moer was the homeworld of the Human free-trader Liadden,[11] and Mackar was the original home of the sentient Frid.[3] At some point five thousand years before the Galactic Civil War,[12] a series of cataclysms occurred on several water worlds throughout the galaxy, including Mackar. Subsequently, a group of spacefaring benefactors arrived and helped relocate the species of the affected worlds to the[3] Trans-Nebular sector[13] planet Iskalon.[3]

The Hewett sector was established in the StarWars.com Online Companion to the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, which was written by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry.[2] In 2012, the sector was depicted on a map designed by Modi and published in the Online Companion feature "Essential Atlas Extra: Sectors of the Mid Rim."[7]
