Hestria was a Mid Rim agriworld located in the Senex sector. It was known for the wines produced there. Around 3643 BBY, the government of Hestria shut down its secret police force that had been attempting to influence the governments of all the planets of the Hestria system.

Description[]

Hestria was a thriving agriworld located in the Hestria system of the Senex sector, a part of the Senex-Juvex region in the Western Reaches portion of the Mid Rim. It was connected via hyperlanes to the Angratha, Kedorzha, and Simoom systems. The world was known for the wines produced there,[1] which included Hestrian wine.[3][4]

History[]

This section of the article assumes 100% game completion of Star Wars: The Old Republic. Any alternate stories may be noted in the "Behind the scenes" section. The events in this section may or may not have been confirmed as canon within the Star Wars Legends continuity.

By 3643 BBY,[5] the government of Hestria operated a secret police force that was notoriously corrupt and participated in attempts to influence the governments of all the planets of the Hestria system. Around that year, Hestria's government shut down the police force. An individual affiliated with one of the sides in the ongoing struggle between the Galactic Republic and the reconstituted Sith Empire subsequently sent a companion to investigate the police force's secret files before the government destroyed them, which the companion successfully did.[2]

After the settlement of the Senex-Juvex around 1000 BBY by a group of affluent Core Worlds inhabitants led by the enterpreneur Thull Vandron, Hestria, like the other worlds in the region, came under the control of the aristocratic Ancient Houses that eventually ruled there.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

Hestria was introduced in the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, authored by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry, which placed it in grid square L-18.[1] The world was subsequently mentioned in an Investigation Crew Skill mission of the 2011 BioWare video game Star Wars: The Old Republic, though the information regarding the mission's outcome was later removed from the game.[2]

(backup link) Jason Fry, co-author of The Essential Atlas, stated his intention to create homeworlds for numerous species based on context implied from their names. Given this principle, this article makes a similar basic assumption for Hestrian wine in relation to the Hestria system and specifically Hestria.
  5. Per the reasoning here, Act I of Star Wars: The Old Republic takes place around 3643 BBY. Since players of The Old Republic can assign their companions on the mission "Cleaning House" independently of the main class storyline at any point during the game, the mission must take place at some point around 3643 BBY.
