- "The galactic economy is a hypercomplex system, full of unexpected movements and ill-discerned effects, where the flutter of a pigeon on Trantor may create a typhoon on Bal'demnic. It is a mathematical organism with enough dependent variables to make the most devout Givin theoretician throw up his hands in defeat. This has by no means prevented attempts to harness it for political ends."
- ―The Golden Emperor of Prekaz, "Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Praji: A Cartel of Genes"
The Golden Emperor of Prekaz was an emperor who once characterized the galactic economy, comparing it to a hypercomplex mathematical "organism." The emperor also compared wealth to potential energy that could be converted into kinetic energy, sometimes with unexpected results. The Golden Emperor of Prekaz was eventually quoted in the article "Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Praji: A Cartel of Genes" by Doctor Gabrel Treon.
Biography[]
- "Think of wealth like potential energy. It doesn't need to be used for any particular thing. It just lies posed, waiting to be unleashed into kinetic force. The trouble is that it might be unleashed in ways you didn't anticipate!"

The Golden Emperor of Prekaz was an individual[1] who shared their name with the Prekaz system of the Core Worlds.[2] At one point, they commented on the nature of the galactic economy and described it as a hypercomplex mathematical "organism" involving so many dependent variables that an attempt to solve it would confound even the most dedicated theoreticians of the Givin[1] species, which had a society organized around complex mathematics.[3] The emperor further compared the scope of the unexpected and unforeseen interdependencies inherent in the economy of the galaxy to a flutter of a pigeon on[1] the Core Worlds[4] celestial body Trantor causing a typhoon on Bal'demnic,[1] an oceanic world in the Outer Rim Territories.[5] The Golden Emperor of Prekaz also noted that, despite such complexity, individuals nevertheless attempted to manipulate the galactic economy to further political goals.[1]
In another instance, the Golden Emperor of Prekaz compared accumulated wealth to potential energy, specifically how it generally remained unbound for any specific purpose until the time came that it was actually used for such a purpose—akin to potential energy at some point being converted into kinetic energy. The emperor also remarked that such conversion—both of energy and of wealth—sometimes involved unexpected outcomes. In 104 ABY, Doctor Gabrel Treon quoted the Golden Emperor of Prekaz's thoughts on the galactic economy and wealth in the article "Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Praji: A Cartel of Genes," published in the Byblos Journal of Historical Science.[1]
