"JJ Abrams was lovely. Kathleen Kennedy is also just a lovely, lovely lady. She's an absolute angel. Really cool. No ego. You're always given a mental image of someone from the media, but generally people are quite different when you meet them. It's more myth than truth."
―Nick Chapman, manager of Full Monty Catering[1]

Full Monty Catering is a catering company headed by Nick Chapman that provided craft services for the 2015 sequel trilogy film, Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens. Catering the scenes shot in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, Chapman provided a liquid-based menu to keep the crew hydrated.

"That was challenging. The chefs in the kitchen are working in 40 degrees even with air conditioning. The closest supermarket was two hours away."
―Nick Chapman, on filming The Force Awakens[1]

The craft services table for The Force Awakens

Full Monty Catering is a catering company founded in 2008[2] that provided the food services for the cast and crew of the 2015 sequel trilogy film, Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens, at the scenes shot in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The company is run by Nick Chapman, who explained in an interview that the company provided a craft services table that included sandwiches, wraps, and quick bites. Their menu for the film was very much liquid-based; they provided protein shakes, smoothies, and slushees to keep the crew hydrated.[1]

Chapman called their energy bars and lemon iced tea the most popular items on the menu. The shoot was particularly challenging due to the heat of the middle of the summer—chefs were forced to work in conditions that were uncomfortably hot, even with the help of air conditioning. Deliveries from a two-hour-away supermarket came daily in order to ensure that fresh food was always at hand; Chapman was committed to making sure that everything was cooked on-site and made-to-order.[1]

Chapman stated that he loved working on the set and that it was enjoyable to work with director J.J. Abrams as well as producer Kathleen Kennedy.[1] Full Monty Catering teased the production of the film in 2014 by posting an image of the food for The Force Awakens on their Facebook page with the caption "May the Craft Be with you !!," a play on[3] the Star Wars term "May the Force be with you."[4] While the company itself went uncredited, Chapman was credited as "Craft Supervisor."[5] Full Monty later called Episode VII a difficult secret to keep.[2] As of 2024, both Full Monty Catering's website and Facebook page have gone inactive.[2][6]
