Frederick Ried Roos (May 22, 1934May 18, 2024) was an American producer and casting director most famous for his work on The Godfather Part II, for which he won an Oscar. Before this, he worked in the casting department for Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, recommending actors Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, and James Earl Jones, who would go on to portray Han Solo, Leia Organa, and Darth Vader's voice respectively, to George Lucas. He also discovered actor Alden Ehrenreich, who portrayed Han Solo in Solo: A Star Wars Story.[1]
