Fostering was a practice in which two individuals from two different families became a foster child of the other's family for six months. Each child would be treated as a full member of the family they were with. Around 25,793 BBY Oma Dessain and Brom Santis would participate in this practice in order to form a treaty between the management and employees of Dessain Mining.[1]
