BioWare and LucasArts are currently working together to produce a massively-multiplayer online roleplaying game ("MMORPG" or "mumorpuger") called Star Wars: The Old Republic. While it takes place in the came millennium as the other works within our mandate, should we include it within our project, or let others take a crack at it? Let's discuss and see if we can come to a consensus.

Include[]

Exclude[]

  1. As a person who both dislikes mumorpugers and knows how negatively they can impact on canon (see: Star Wars Galaxies), I am averse to us expanding our project to include it. If BioWare follows their usual trend, there may be, if not immediately, than eventually, more to cover within this than in all of our current sources combined.--Goodwood Redstarbird (Alliance Intelligence) 07:18, 4 January 2009 (UTC)
  2. I have confidence that Bioware won't make this game bad canonwise or gameplaywise, but it really has nothing to do with Knights of the Old Republic. The comics are prequels, TSL is a sequel. TOR can only be loosly called a spin-off, it is certainly not KotOR 3. NaruHina Talk Anakinsolo 07:25, 4 January 2009 (UTC)
  3. I don't think that this should be included under our project. TOR is going to need continual updating, and the KotOR comics are enough for us right now. And as Naru said, there isn't very much to tie KotOR to TOR. Cylka-talk- 15:59, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
  4. Per Goodwood. --Darth tom Imperial Emblem (Imperial Intelligence) 08:31, 3 April 2009 (UTC)

Comments[]

  • I would wait for the game to come out first, and then get a more informed decision on how to proceed. SoresuMakashi(Everything I tell you is a lie) 07:35, 4 January 2009 (UTC)
    • I have to agree with Soresumakashi, although I'm leaning towards the include vote, but maybe as sub-project, not a different one like TotJ. Bioware has hinted that we might see the descendants of the characters from KotOR, so it might actually tie into our project. Who knows, maybe Revan and the Exile had a few little Jedi of their own out in the Unknown Regions :P Cylka-talk- 15:14, 4 January 2009 (UTC)
    • Normally I would agree with a wait and see aproach but this time we should make preparations for it so we don't get caught off-guard. And its we either include it or we don't, there arent any Sub-Wookieeprojects except the subpages like my Death Note or Chack's desk. I'm not sure if another wookieeproject would form if we don't include it either, TCW and Galaxies don't have projects dedicated to them. We may include their decendants in this project maybe though, as that is relevant to KotOR, but I'm not gonna pay 14.99 a month (If we're lucky) to do their articles. • I just think we should wait and see what happens.--Jedi Kasra (talk) 18:01, 7 January 2009 (UTC)
    • Well it seems at the moment that the {{WKOTORtalk}} template is already on the talk page. Should this be removed? Keep in mind that we'll also have to make a decision on the online comic series, which has already begun release. SoresuMakashi(Everything I tell you is a lie) 11:13, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
      • The comic is a bit to intertwined to the game, devoid of many original characters. In fact, the only confirmed original character at the moment is Femi. If we decide to cover the comic, we'd have to follow through and do the game too. NaruHina Talk Anakinsolo 15:40, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
