A quick word from Fiolli[]

Greetings participants of the KotOR WookieeProject.

This may not be the place to mention this, but I thought most people in the project would see it here. I want to highlight something that arises frequently in FA and GA nominations with regards to articles associated with this project. It is easy, as individuals familiar with the KotOR-era canon, to gloss through the citation of dates and ascribe them to the two games. I want to make it clear that such citation cannot be accepted, for it is not factual. 3,956 BBY is often cited as having come from KotOR, and 3,951 BBY is oft sourced to TSL. The games do not provide these dates. Other places (official and semi-official websites, continuity discussions, etc.) have either provided or alluded to these dates. With the releases of The New Essential Chronology, The New Essential Guide to Droids, Jedi vs. Sith: The Essential Guide to the Force, the Knights of the Old Republic Campaign Guide, and The Essential Atlas, we now have multiple canon sources that can provide hard dates and their sequence in canon. Please utilize these.

Thanks all, and keep up the good work.

Comments and or questions[]

Alright thanks Fiolli. Quick question: Which of those sources can be used for KotOR1, which for TSL, and do you recommend one source in particular? SoresuMakashi(Everything I tell you is the truth) 04:38, September 26, 2010 (UTC)

  • IIRC KOTOR Campaign Guide has year for both KOTOR games. --Tm_T (Talk) 05:51, September 26, 2010 (UTC)
    • The Atlas also cites the Jedi Civil War very well. Jedi vs. Sith: The Essential Guide to the Force provides some dates for specific events.

Also to add possible sources list: WizardsoftheCoast "Message to Spacers 9" (original article link) on Wizards.com (content now obsolete; backup link) gives year 3951 BBY for the Exile's encounter with Zhug brothers on Dxun by mentioning their crash to the moon. --Tm_T (Talk) 05:51, September 26, 2010 (UTC)

  • I'm glad this one was brought up. For example, I would be hard-pressed to accept a date for this encounter as having been cited as the NEC or Atlas when nothing in the NEC and nothing in the Atlas mentions the Zhugs. Please note that the source should contain a mention to the exact thing. If that is not possible, then provide a footnote explaining that "even though the ___ is not listed in ___, it occurs in Knights of the Old Republic between ____ and ____, which are both cited as _____ BBY in _____." • Indeed, and in the case of this Message to spacers 9 article, it clearly says the year, what happens and to who. Gotta love it. (: --Tm_T (Talk) 20:08, October 4, 2010 (UTC)
