The Enrivi system was located in the Metatessu sector within an intersecting portion of the the galaxy's Mid Rim^[1] and the Slice.^[2] The star system was situated at the coordinates R-9 on the Standard Galactic Grid.^[3] In 3 ABY,^[4] two starships of the Rebel Alliance's 61st Mobile Infantry—the CR90 corvette Thunderstrike and the Braha'tok-class gunship Apailana's Promise—were ambushed in the Enrivi system by forces of the Galactic Empire, consisting of a light cruiser and a squadron of TIE fighters, just thirty hours after escaping a battle in another star system.^[1]

The Imperial forces had followed a hypermatter trail being left by the Thunderstrike's damaged hyperdrive, but were ultimately obliterated in the ensuing battle, with all Imperial personnel being killed. After leaving the Enrivi system, the rebel company discovered that its starships had been tracked.^[1]
