The Contract of the Common Ownership Agreement was a document signed in 45-x-920p by partners Lilac Nani, Medypsh, Oeklass and Zot Effervescence of the law firm Nani, Medypsh, Effervesence, & Oeklass. It appertained to multi-use property on the planet Mistar-5, setting provisions to ensure that property was not stolen by any one of the partners, while also stipulating legal consequences that should be put in motion in case of breach of contract. Oeklass once violated this agreement when he stole a boat, prompting his fellow co-workers to draft a cease and desist letter addressed to him.

The Contract of the Common Ownership Agreement, signed by the attorney partners Lilac Nani, Medypsh, Oeklass and Zot Effervescence of the law firm Nani, Medypsh, Effervesence, & Oeklass established specific rules regarding multi-use property on the planet Mistar-5,[1] a Mistar system location, within the Outer Rim's Tragan Cluster.[2][3]
The contract possessed at least seven articles with subsections to them. Article Seven of the agreement dealt with the potential contract infringement. Section One of said article determined that one ought to have cured the breach within fifteen wind passages by returning the property subtracted. Section Two specified penalties and conditions while Section Three clarified that any attempts at use of "mind control, heretical body manipulations, weather disturbances, dirty jokes, or any other more than three-dimensional negotiating methods" to avoid curing the breach would be considered an aggression towards the established partnership and would be handled appropriately according to guidelines set in the contract.[1]

The letter drafted by Oeklass's peers
The contract was inked in 45-x-920p, and some time afterwards, Oeklass was known to have violated it for stealing a boat. A cease and desist letter was drafted and signed by his partners in Galactic Basic Standard and using High Galactic script, addressed to "The Wavering Oeklass," in his residence in Cylinder 14, Vemu, Abar-12,[1] a location in the Tragan Cluster's Abar system.[2][3] The letter reminded the contents agreed upon in the contract and established a period of three eclipses for Oeklass to reply with a letter of compliance or an oblong object as evidence of acquiescence, or else default proceedings would immediately be put in motion.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
The Contract of the Common Ownership Agreement was mentioned in a one-page cease and desist letter addressed to "The Wavering Oeklass," written by Bob Carrau for the 1993 book Monsters and Aliens from George Lucas, a publication that combines creature designs and photographs from various projects of George Lucas, creator of the Star Wars franchise, with original text by Carrau.[1] Lucasfilm employee Leland Chee, who maintains the Holocron continuity database, has indicated that information contained in the book is non-canonical.[4]
