A classified[5] division of clone troopers was active within the Advanced Science Division of the Galactic Empire early into its reign. The division trained the troopers into specialized operatives known as Clone X troopers. During the process, their identities are erased and underwent conditioning, and the few that survived the process were fanatically loyal to the Empire. Clone X, CX-1, CX-2, Sniper CloneX3, Sniper CloneX4, Sniper CloneX5, and another trooper were all part of the division. Rogue clone commando Crosshair was inducted, but their regimen proved unsuccessful due to Crosshair's unique clone deficiencies. The division of Clone X troopers were utilized for Royce Hemlock's deep undercover program.[1] Eventually, a batch of modified and augmented clone assassins were created, CX squad, and were deployed during the skirmish on Wayland.[2]
