"Though the Alliance had countless cells on thousands of planets, a single command headquarters was necessary for the Rebel leadership to rest and plan strategy. The first of these top-secret bases was established on a tiny planetoid in the Chrellis system, though the HQ was designed for continual relocation."
―A Galactic Alliance historical document[3]

The Chrellis system was a part of the Outer Rim Territories' Lahara sector. It contained the planetoid Chrellis, the site of the first base of the Rebel Alliance's High Command. At one point, an asteroid in the system also hosted an independent community of G2 repair droids.

Description[]

The Chrellis system was located in the Lahara sector,[1] a part of the New Territories portion of[2] the Outer Rim Territories.[1] It contained the tiny planetoid Chrellis[3] and at least one asteroid.[4]

History[]

At some point, in what became a notorious incident, a team of G2 repair droids stole a fueling freighter and established their own community on the Chrellis system's asteroid.[4] Following the foundation of the Rebel Alliance[3] in 2 BBY,[6] the first base of the Alliance High Command was established on the planetoid[3] under the command of the Human General Jan Dodonna.[5]

When the Galactic Empire reallocated its sector fleets, the base on Chrellis became uncomfortably close to Imperial Navy activity and was moved to the Tion Cluster[7] planet[8] Brigia.[7] The fact that the Chrellis system hosted the first Alliance High Command base was eventually recorded in a 25 ABY galactic history chronicle by the Historical Council of the New Republic[9] as well as its 36 ABY updated edition by the Council's incarnation under the Galactic Federation of Free Alliances.[3]

Behind the scenes[]

The Chrellis system was first mentioned in The Rebel Alliance Sourcebook, which was authored by Paul Murphy and published in 1990 for use with West End Games's Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.[10] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed it in grid square M-5.[2]
