The chindinkalu plant was a plant native to the planet Kirdo III. Droopy McCool, a Kitonak musician and a native of the planet, used a hollow chindinkalu plant to craft the chindinkalu flute that he played as a member of the Max Rebo Band.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
The chindinkalu plant first appeared in Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi as part of Droopy McCool's chindinkalu flute,[2] though the actual name of the plant was not used in Star Wars canon until it was identified in Droopy McCool's Base Series 1 card, which released on Star Wars: Card Trader[1] on March 11, 2015.[3] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the plant was identified as the chidinka in the StarWars.com article Slugthrowers: An Overview of Popular Music and Musicians in a Galaxy Far, Far Away.[4]
