"The Canny Bargain is withdrawing—their shields are gone, they're patching a hull breach."
―A bridge officer of the Deliverance, to Hera Syndulla[1]

The Canny Bargain was a starship equipped with deflector shield generators that served in the New Republic Defense Fleet.[1] In 5 ABY,[2] the vessel participated in the New Republic's assault on the Galactic Empire's loyalist forces above the planet Jakku. During the subsequent battle, the Canny Bargain lost its shields and suffered a hull breach. The ship subsequently withdrew from the fray, and news of its retreat reached the refitted New Republic Star Destroyer Deliverance, where the latter vessel's commanding officer, General Hera Syndulla, was informed of the Canny Bargain's withdrawal by one of her bridge officers.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

The Canny Bargain was mentioned in the 2021 novel Victory's Price, the final installment of Alexander Freed's Star Wars: Alphabet Squadron trilogy.[1]
