Bursoll II was a Wild Space planet whose flora included the rurylis flower. Upon the planet's discovery, the SoroSuub Corporation wished to use in manufacturing a rare radioactive mineral bountifully present on Bursoll II.

To that end, SoroSuub attempted to appease the native Prince Geben Arrulis during his visit to the planet Sullust. The corporation tasked a group of individuals with bringing rurylis specimens from Bursoll II to Sullust, which it successfully did, although the plant's newly discovered psychoactive effect on beings spending time with it caused further difficulties with the prince's visit.

Description[]

Bursoll II was a terrestrial planet that occupied the second orbital position[2] in the Wild Space's Bursoll system.[1] The planet had large deposits of a rare mineral that was radioactive. Bursoll II's flora included the rurylis flower, a plant whose pollen dispersed in the planet's atmosphere but induced a disorienting psychoactive effect in beings spending at least a day in an enclosed space with the plant.[2]

History[]

Shortly after Bursoll II's discovery by the wider galaxy, the planet's Prince Geben Arrulis visited the Outer Rim Territories planet Sullust. The Sullust-based SoroSuub Corporation, wishing to utilize Bursoll II's radioactive mineral in manufacturing, attempted to appease the prince so that the corporation would be granted the use of the mineral.[2]

Since Arrulis yearned to see a plant from his homeworld in Sullust's capital, SoroSuub Central, SoroSuub executives requested that a group of individuals travel to Bursoll II in order to bring a few specimens of the rurylis flower to Sullust. The group successfully retrieved several rurylis plants on Bursoll II but discovered the plant's psychoactive effect—unknown to almost anyone else—upon the return journey to Sullust. When the flowers were subsequently planted in a cavern in SoroSuub Central, the rurylis began to affect the local Sullustans, forcing the group to seek a diplomatic way to convince the prince to cooperate with SoroSuub Corporation.[2]

Inhabitants[]

The near-Human male Geben Arrulis was a native of Bursoll II and held the title of prince on the planet.[2]

Behind the scenes[]

Bursoll II was introduced in the 2004 Wizards of the Coast sourcebook Geonosis and the Outer Rim Worlds. The book includes an adventure seed for use with the Star Wars Roleplaying Game, and this article assumes the scenario plays out as described.[2] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Bursoll system, and therefore Bursoll II, in grid square H-17.[3]
