Base Alpha was a military base that was located on Jakku. New Republic Third Recon Group commander Major Ranz stated to New Republic pilot Lieutenant Gina Moonsong that there were thousands of Imperial troops between their position and Base Alpha. This, and other factors, convinced her to remain with Third Recon Group [1]
