Baroonda was a city where the last race of The Rawani Cup podracing event was held. The event was broadcast from the city by alien Bakk and Zico on radio station BSO 401.72. The broadcast was played in Black Spire Outpost on the planet Batuu during the war between the First Order and the Resistance.[1]

The city Baroonda was first created for Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, which opened to guests at Disneyland Park on May 31, 2019.[1] It shares its name with the planet Baroonda, which first appeared in the 1999 video game Star Wars: Episode I Racer, in which it featured as a prominent podracing location.[2]
