"I'm from a planet called Baraan-Fa."
"I've heard of Baraan-Fa, they have the bazaar."
"It's supposed to be the best. Exactly so, where I grew up, on the outskirts of the market, the birds would start at sundown. The small ones first, the titterlings and spollows, chirruping in short burst back and forth imitation of each other."
―Sari Nadle and Mattis Banz[3]

Baraan-Fa was a small, beautiful planet in the Outer Rim Territories that was known for its trade and farming, inhabited by members of the human species. It was the homeworld of Sari Nadle, a cadet in the Resistance's J-Squadron.

Description[]

Baraan-Fa was a small[3] terrestrial[2] planet located in the galaxy's[3] Outer Rim Territories[1] that was covered in forests and grassy terrain.[2] It was mostly known for its trade and farming. It had an atmosphere breathable to oxygen-breathers, such as humans, and was inhabited by several creatures, including kollowaries, shonserras, spollows, tench doves, and titterlings.[3]

History[]

"Rendezvous Point C."
"Baraan-Fa?"
"If you have a better idea, we can discuss it from the safety of Baraan-Fa."
―Leia Organa and Mon Mothma[2]

Sometime after the Battle of Yavin, Baraan-Fa was used as a rendezvous point by the Rebel Alliance after their fleet was attacked by the Galactic Empire. Arriving on Baraan-Fa, Princess Leia Organa and Chancellor Mon Mothma discussed the establishment of a more permanent base. Organa suggested the planet Crait, leading a mission to survey it.[2]

Inhabitants[]

Baraan-Fa was home to a population of humans, who were often of a smaller size than usual. The Resistance cadet Sari Nadle was one such human from Baraan-Fa.[3]

Locations[]

The Alliance to Restore the Republic operated, Rendezvous Point C, a temporary base, on Baraan-Fa.[2] The Bazaar was also located on the planet.[3]

Behind the scenes[]

Baraan-Fa first appeared in Star Wars: The Last Jedi – The Storms of Crait 1, a comic written by Ben Acker and Ben Blacker, illustrated by Mike Mayhew[2] and published on December 27, 2017.[4]
