B8G-H0R was a B8G labor droid that was forced to work in the spice mines owned by the criminal Pyke Syndicate on the planet Kessel. In the year 10 BBY, he was involved in a slave uprising on Kessel caused by a group of outlaws trying to steal coaxium fuel from the Pykes. During the uprising, B8G-H0R was part of a mob that charged out of the mine tunnels and onto a landing pad, where the rioters fought with their captors.

Biography[]

During the reign of the Galactic Empire,[2] the B8G labor droid[1] B8G-H0R was forced to work in the criminal Pyke Syndicate's spice mines on the planet Kessel.[2] He shared his work in the mine with other labor droids including CC-4M and J3-55.[3] In 10 BBY,[4] a group of outlaws affiliated with the Crimson Dawn syndicate arrived on Kessel in order to try and steal coaxium from the Pykes. While in disguise, several members of the group reached the mine's control room, where they inadvertently caused the beginning of a slave revolt by freeing the droid DD-BD from his restraining bolt.[5]

Kessel Slave Charge

B8G-H0R took part in a slave uprising on Kessel.

The freed droid began removing the bolts of other droid slaves, who in turn did the same or freed organic slaves from their shackles. As both droid and organic slaves rose up against the Pykes, B8G-H0R hurried through one of the mine's corridors past Han Solo and Chewbacca, two members of the group of outlaws who were headed to the vault containing the coaxium.[5]

B8G-H0R later was part of a mob of slaves that charged out of the mine tunnels and onto a landing pad on the planet surface, where the Millennium Falcon, a YT-1300 light freighter being used by the outlaws, was parked. Heavy fighting broke out in the area, with both the slaves and the outlaws attacking the Pykes. During the conflict, B8G-H0R initially stood near one of the area's pools of kessoline, grappling with a Pyke sentinel over an electrostave. The droid later moved closer to the mine's entrance again when the outlaw droid L3-37 was destroyed by the Pykes.[5]

Characteristics[]

B8G-H0R was a bipedal, tan-colored labor droid with a large gas-burning exhaust vent in his torso.[2] Seemingly fueled by gas consumption, the droid was humanoid in shape other then a few unusual features like its torso radiator.[3] It had a head with two black sensors, one larger than the other, and an antenna that protruded from its back,[2] which the droid used to communicate with its environment by transmitting and receiving messages.[3]

Behind the scenes[]

B8G-H0R first appeared in the 2018 Anthology film, Solo: A Star Wars Story,[5] and was first identified in the accompanying reference book Solo: A Star Wars Story The Official Guide, which was written by Pablo Hidalgo.[2]
