"Aquamarine Squad were sent to Mos Eisley on Tatooine to recruit new people for the Alliance. They'd have been going door to door, and it's possible that they hit trouble somewhere…"
―Zev Senesca[1]

A recruitment drive was undertaken by the Rebel Alliance's Aquamarine Squad in Mos Eisley, a settlement on the planet Tatooine in 3 ABY. Aquamarine Squad recruited one Gran before their mission was interrupted by stormtroopers. All three members eventually returned to Echo Base on the planet Hoth.

Prelude[]

After "the best colors were already taken," according to the rebel pilot Zev Senesca, the Rebel Alliance squad Aquamarine Squad was formed.[1] In the weeks[3] between the construction of Echo Base and its destruction by the Galactic Empire in 3 ABY,[2] the three infantry troopers of Aquamarine Squad were charged with finding more people to join the Rebel Alliance by going door to door to speak to the residents of Mos Eisley, a settlement on[1] the planet[4] Tatooine, as part of their efforts in the Galactic Civil War.[1]

The mission[]

"You're looking for those Rebels? I shouldn't be telling you this, but my husband's a Stormtrooper, and he didn't take kindly to them coming in here. He chased them away!"
―Stormtrooper's wife[1]

After arriving in Mos Eisley, Aquamarine Squad unsuccessfully pitched the Alliance to an indifferent Aqualish and successfully recruited a Gran, but then fell afoul of an Imperial stormtrooper when they attempted to recruit the stormtrooper's wife. All three squad members escaped the initial pursuit but had to split up to do so; while two of the rebels remained safe from further Imperial attention, one was cornered by several stormtroopers.[1]

This section of the article assumes 100% game completion of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. Any alternate stories may be noted in the "Behind the scenes" section. The events in this section may or may not have been confirmed as canon.

Zev Senesca became concerned when Aquamarine Squad were late to check in and sent an individual to see if they had encountered any problems. The individual rescued the cornered trooper and found the other two, one in Chalmun's Spaceport Cantina and one hiding behind a building near the Dowager hotel. After speaking with the individual, all three members of Aquamarine Squad returned to Echo Base.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

Aquamarine Squad's recruitment drive appeared in the non-canon video game LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, which was released in 2022. The rescue of the squad members comprised the "Aquamarine Around the Gills" side mission.[1]

According to Star Wars: Timelines, Echo Base was constructed in 3 ABY and destroyed by the Galactic Empire the same year. Therefore, Aquamarine Squad's mission must occur in 3 ABY.
