Ant droids were six-legged droids with an appendage emerging from their head which they used to carry objects. A large number of ant droids assisted in the construction of the Jedi Temple of Luke Skywalker[1] in 9 ABY.[2] The droids carried stones from the surrounding environment and placed them to form a dome-shaped structure as part of the temple.[1]
Characteristics[]
Ant droids moved using six multi-swiveling legs which allowed them to traverse rough terrain as well as climb vertical surfaces. They had a single black photoreceptor on their front end, and an arm-like appendage directly below it, which they could use to carry heavy objects such as rocks. They could communicate with astromech droids using the binary droid language, and could work in groups for large scale projects.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
Ant droids first appeared in "Chapter 6: From the Desert Comes a Stranger," the sixth episode of The Book of Boba Fett, directed by Dave Filoni.[1]
