The Anaxes asteroid belt, also known as the Anaxes asteroid ring, was an asteroid field located in the Azure sector of the galaxy's Outer Rim Territories. It was created when a cataclysmic event destroyed the planet Anaxes after the end of the Clone Wars. One of its asteroids, the planetoid PM-1203, housed Fort Anaxes, an abandoned Galactic Republic military installation that had been located on Anaxes' surface during the Clone Wars.

Description[]

The Anaxes asteroid belt,[2] otherwise known as the Anaxes asteroid ring,[8] was an asteroid field located in the Azure system[3] of the Azure sector[2] in the Outer Rim Territories. Situated along the Perlemian Trade Route,[1] the asteroid field was formed from the remains of the destroyed planet Anaxes and was home to colonies of fyrnocks.[7]

Despite being an asteroid field, several asteroids within maintained trace atmospheres,[5] including PM-1203, a planetoid that contained Fort Anaxes, a former Galactic Republic military base. The field was also home to another planetoid known as PM-6986, which housed a former Separatist stronghold.[2]

Behind the scenes[]

The Anaxes asteroid belt first appeared in "Out of Darkness,"[5] the seventh episode[9] of the first season of the Star Wars Rebels television series,[10] which originally aired on November 3, 2014.[11] The asteroid belt was later identified in Dawn of Rebellion, a 2018 supplement to Fantasy Flight Games' series of Star Wars Roleplaying products.[2] It was alternatively identified in the 2017 reference book Star Wars: The Visual Encyclopedia as the Anaxes asteroid ring.[8] The 2022 attraction Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, set between The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker, placed Anaxes in the Core.[12]
