"The Aii`tkian Anthropologists in Area D-502 have found a new strain of copper thanks to the O.S.S. "Junk Dealers" Guild. The scientists believe the new copper will be used effectively for starship shields and various parts."
―Imperial Daily News[1]

The Aii`tkian Anthropologists were a group of scientists active during the reign of the Galactic Empire.

History[]

During the Galactic Civil War, the Aii`tkian Anthropologists were present in the Dantooine system where they explored the system's Area D-502. There, they collected rare starship equipment that highlighted the existence of an ancient, space-faring species.[3] In addition, they also operated in the Asair's Ribbon and Isryn's Veil quadrants.[4] Due to the lack of protection provided by the Empire, the Aii`tkian Anthropologists had allied with merchants and junk dealers,[3] such as the O.S.S. D-502 Junk Guild,[2] to protect themselves against the Zel'iphian Slave Traders Guild.[3] In space, Aii'tkian pilots flew Z-95-AF4 Headhunters.[5]

Around the time of the Battle of Yavin, the Aii`tkian Anthropologists and the O.S.S. Junk Guild discovered a new strain of copper in the Dantooine system's Area D-502. Aii`tkian scientists then investigated whether it was worth to be used to manufacture starship parts.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

The Aii`tkian Anthropologists appeared in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts,[5] prior to its closure on December 15, 2011.[6] The Aii`tkian Anthropologists were added to the game with the release of the expansion pack Jump to Lightspeed on October 27, 2004.[5]
