Adrian Dunbar was cast to play Bail Prestor Organa in The Phantom Menace, but during the production his character was changed to that of Bail Antilles. Ultimately the scene in which he appeared was cut from the final version of the film. Bail Organa was eventually played by Jimmy Smits. Dunbar's portrayal of Bail Antilles has been used in the Expanded Universe as the character's likeness, leading to some confusion over the separate identities of Bail Organa and Bail Antilles.
Adrian Dunbar received an honorary degree of Doctor of Letters from the University of Ulster in June 2009 in recognition of his services to acting. He also fronts his own band, which has played in such American venues as Nashville, Tennessee and Austin, Texas.
