A New Dawn was a pro-New Republic propaganda poster created in the aftermath of the Battle of Endor by Janyor of Bith. With the death of Emperor Sheev Palpatine, the Republic endeavored to supplant the rule of the Galactic Empire with a new era ushering in the restoration of democracy. To this end, the Republic utilized propaganda to promote public support for its cause.[1]
The background depicted a sunrise illuminating a purple-colored horizon over a city on the Republic capital planet of Chandrila. At the top, the title "A NEW DAWN" was written in High Galactic, and at the bottom of the poster, was the sigil of the New Republic and a message—also written in High Galactic—that stated the following: "The fall of Emperor Palpatine brings about a new opportunity for peace." This was followed by a second message stating "JOIN THE NEW REPUBLIC IN CELEBRATING THE BEGINNING OF THIS GLORIOUS NEW ERA!"[1]
