2BR-NTB,[4] known as 2B, was a BB-series astromech droid who served the Resistance spy Norath Kev. 2B accompanied Kev to the planet Varkana, where he was discovered by the bounty hunter Ax Tagrin, working for the First Order. Tagrin shot 2B, capturing Kev.[3] The droid had a distinct green and red paint scheme and sensors attuned to impending danger.[4]

2BR-NTB first appeared in "The Missing Agent,"[3] the twelfth episode of the second season of the Star Wars Resistance animated television series, which aired on December 22, 2019.[5] The droid was referred to as "2B" within the episode's dialogue,[3] but received their full designation, 2BR-NTB, in their StarWars.com Databank entry.[4] The droid's concept art was developed by Stephanie Carey and based off an existing model titled "BB8A,"[6] which is BB-8's model for Star Wars Resistance,[7] with changes made to the head and colors.[6]
