The 08-Z transport was a model of hovertrain transport manufactured by Marmoth Factories. 08-Zs were used as low-cost transportation for workers to move to and from their job sites. They consisted of two cars, one of which carried the passengers,^[1] with seating for up to sixteen individuals,^[2] and the other the train operator and control room. The engine and stabilizers were located in the front of the passenger compartment, with a large grille leading air inside to prevent the mechanism from overheating.^[1]

One 08-Z transport was used to ferry tibidon sand whale harvesters working on Tatooine's Tibidon Station by 9 BBY, the only amenity provided to them by their employers. Among those using the train daily was Jedi Master in hiding Obi-Wan Kenobi, on one of his many temporary jobs.^[2]
