The small village of Sun Do (Chinese: 孙道) is located in the southeastern area of Outworld and it is home to the strong-hearted Outworlder Li Mei. It was first mentioned in the storyline of Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance including Li Mei's bios, but was only showed and first named in the Konquest mode of Mortal Kombat: Deception.
Shang Tsung and Quan Chi commanded Kano and his troops to enslave the small population living within a small village called Sun Do, and instructed them to construct a palace fortress for them. One of the villagers enslaved was Li Mei, who rebelled and attacked Kano. Recognizing her fighting skills, Quan Chi offered freedom to her and the people of Sun Do if she could win the new Mortal Kombat tournament held by the Deadly Alliance. Shujinko also met Li Mei here after being captured by Kano and his men and brought to her home village during his 40 year-old quest for the Kamidogu. Shujinko taught her martial art moves and techniques.
In the alternate timeline, Sun Do was the epicenter of the battle between Kotal Kahn's forces and Mileena's rebel forces.
In the new timeline, Sun Do becomes the capital city of Outworld and home to Empress Sindel's palace in Mortal Kombat 1. Instead of a small village, Sun Do has become a great metropolis boasting splendid palaces and markets.
