Storyline[]
In the New Age, Motaro is part of Empress Sindel's Outworld army, under the command of General Shao.
Motaro was selected to be an opponent in the tournament held by Liu Kang and Jerrod, Motaro fought against the Earth champion but was defeated by him. After the tournament, Motaro tried to intervene Liu Kang's allies who had infiltrated the Outworld and were going to use Sun Do's portal to go to the Earthrealm, however, he was too late and they escaped.
Motaro decided to follow General Shao in his attack to dethrone Sindel, he accompanied Reiko to stop Liu Kang and Li Mei who was convinced by him about Shao's true intentions and about his alliance with Shang Tsung but both were defeated and reached Sindel. Liu Kang took Sindel to Shang Tsung's laboratory to convince her about the conspiracy of Shao, Shang Tsung and Quan Chi which convinced her, Motaro was accompanied by Reiko to stop Sindel but failed.
