Storyline
Motaro is shown to be one of Shao Kahn's allies in the events of Mortal Kombat 2011. His first appearance in the new timeline is after Shao Kahn's supposed death. He is seen meeting with the other of Shao Kahn's most trusted allies who are deciding on who should rule Outworld next, only then Shao Kahn comes out, surprising everyone that he survived Liu Kang's fatal punch. Shao Kahn then initiates the invasion of Earthrealm.
Motaro is shown taking part in the invasion, appearing in Stryker's chapter. He is seen fighting Johnny Cage. Raiden witnesses the fight between the two, and after receiving a vision of Motaro killing Johnny, he decides to intervene, striking Motaro with a bolt of lightning and then throwing him off a bridge, saving Johnny's life, and killing Motaro. A chapter later, Mileena is seen leading some Tarkatans and Lin Kuei cyborgs carrying Motaro's dead body to Shao Kahn's throne room, informing him of Motaro's death at the hands of Raiden. Sindel, seeing the body, tells Shao Kahn that she will finish Motaro's work and after saying that, she gets infused with Shang Tsung's energy, becoming ready to take on the Earthrealm defenders.
