Trial Mode is a new game mode introduced in Update 2.0. The concept is the same as Challenge Mode; there will be 5 towers players must complete in order to unlock the prize character. The only difference is that upon completion of a tower, players must wait 24 hours for the next tower to be unlocked, not allowing players to make further progress unlike in Challenge Mode, where players can fight in any tower, no matter the order. A Trial event lasts 14 days, which allows players enough time to gather their ranks and be able to complete the event in order to gain the prize character.

Each trial has five towers; trial towers 1-4 has 5 fights and tower 5 has 6, including a boss battle. Unlike Challenge Mode, the boss character will not be that of the Trial's unique character. Instead, the boss character will be one from previous challenges.

Also unlike Challenge Mode, players will have the opportunity to progress through towers with the Trial's unique character, similar to the boss towers in Battle Mode . This is a great way to get to know the character and learn their special attacks and abilities ahead of time.

Trials Mode

This is what the player will see if they enter Trial Mode for the first time.

Trial Characters[]

Here are some of the characters that so far have been put up as Trial completion rewards. This list will be roughly in chronological order (the order in which they were first introduced). So far, the only other known way to acquire Trial characters is via the MK11 Diamond Pack, which costs 400 souls per purchase. Their tower boss fight characters will also be included for players to reference when a Trial is repeated.

Trivia[]

  • There previously was a bug where after completing Tower 1 on MK11 Jade's Trial, the wait time for the next tower [for most players] was over 5000 days. This issue was resolved soon after players tweeted out to Mortal Kombat Mobile, WB Games Support and Netherrealm Studios.
    • Some players that did not experience the bug and continued to complete the Jade Trial were given another opportunity to gain another copy of her card, meaning it was a free fusion.
