Background information[]
The reference to the Reliant was originally omitted in the original broadcast version of "The Measure Of A Man", but was restored for the special extended version available on the TNG Season 2 Blu-ray release.
This vessel shared its name with the USS Reliant from Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan.
The service award was one of the props displayed at Comic Con's exhibit Jean-Luc Picard: The First Duty in the summer of 2019. [1] According to signs at the exhibit, Picard served aboard this ship from 2327 to 2330 and helped with its decommissioning as he waited for the completion of the USS Enterprise-D in 2364.
