Early?[]

Um... aren't you jumping the gun a bit? Season 1 hasn't even been scheduled yet! As of right now, there is no Season 2! The preceding unsigned comment was added by Madnana42 (talkcontribs).

It was greenlit and given a second season order, so... no. -- sulfur (talk) 10:13, August 6, 2020 (UTC)
...though it does seem odd, given the above, that 14 months later they finally run a press release for it: "PARAMOUNT+ RENEWS ORIGINAL ANIMATED KIDS’ SERIES “STAR TREK: PRODIGY” FOR A SECOND SEASON". --Gvsualan (talk) 01:43, 9 November 2021 (UTC)
Chalk it up to marketing bullshit. :P -- Renegade54 (talk) 01:51, 9 November 2021 (UTC)

Season 2 titles[]

Has anyone seen an official announcement listing some/any/all of the season 2 episode titles? What we have currently mirrors what IMDb has, which came from somewhere, obviously, but who knows where. The IMDb titles mostly reflect the translated French titles, with some minor differences. -- Renegade54 (talk) 14:07, 28 June 2024 (UTC)

I haven't seen any official announcements or similar, so we might just have to wait for the season to drop to create the episode pages. Incidentally, I don't have Netflix and so won't be watching this (for the time being), so I'm going to steer clear of MA for at least the first couple days of July to avoid getting blasted with too many spoilers. (I'll probably spend my time rewatching the Star Trek moves, since they're returning to Paramount+.) So good luck to all of you – I can only imagine it will be quite the time with twenty episodes in one day :) 🖖 Mr. Starfleet Command (talkcontribs) 14:20, 28 June 2024 (UTC)

Yeah... at least we'll get all the titles at the same time... lol. Btw, Roddenberry will be starting up the Mission Log: Prodigy prodcasts again, weekly starting July 2. -- Renegade54 (talk) 18:10, 28 June 2024 (UTC)

Netflix is only listing them as episodes 11 through 20, no titles.--WarGrowlmon18 (talk) 09:30, 1 July 2024 (UTC)

We need some way to cite these episodes on the various pages and create pages for the episodes but Netflix just lists them as episodes 11 through 20 with no names!!! I have NO IDEA how to cite my changes anymore!!!🤯🤯🤯--WarGrowlmon18 (talk) 14:58, 1 July 2024 (UTC)

Episode titles are shown within the episodes, after the intro. JagoAndLitefoot (aka Ausir) (talk) 16:11, 1 July 2024 (UTC)
Ah. I typically just hit Skip on those.😳😳🤷‍♂️--WarGrowlmon18 (talk) 16:20, 1 July 2024 (UTC)

French Release Dates[]

Apologies if I missed something, but is there any reason why the original release date has been changed? I get that there would most likely have been issues which resulted in the French release, but surely this is still the "original" release date and should not be overwritten as such? MadeIndescribable (talk) 12:45, 30 June 2024 (UTC)

On Memory Alpha, we generally use the US release date for the season tables, hence this one lists 1 July 2024. If you scroll down to the "background information" section, you will see that the French release is still mentioned there – in fact, quite a lot has been written about it.
I hope this clarifies things for you. 🖖 Mr. Starfleet Command (talkcontribs) 12:51, 30 June 2024 (UTC)

I did see the info in the background section which is what added to my confusion, the fact it was mentioned but not acknowledged. I get that Trek is a US production so the original US dates does make sense, though I have to admit that I am dissapointed that such an international space devoted to a franchse about humanity overcoming its barriers is still so US-centric. Given that it isn't the "original airdate" which is used, perhaps MA style should at least change season boxes to state "original US airdate" for the sake of factual accuracy if nothing else? That said, I do appreciate your quick response to my question. Thank you. MadeIndescribable (talk) 13:05, 30 June 2024 (UTC)

I have changed the text in the header to "US release date", which I agree is more accurate.
I believe our perceived bias towards the US comes from several things:
  • This is the English Memory Alpha, and there are other MAs for other languages – relevantly the French version – which are free to use whichever dates they wish.
  • I know English is used in many countries other than the US, which brings me to my second point: MA is viewed significantly more in the US than elsewhere. Though I am not at liberty to disclose the exact numbers, I can say that more than half of our page views in the last month were from the US, and the runner-up country (the UK) only had about twelve percent of that number.
  • Finally, this can help make release dates more consistent. For example, one of the seasons that was released in the last few years (I can't remember which one) was releasing episodes first in the US, and then in other countries the next day. One episode, however, was released in a foreign country first, then in the US, then in the rest of the world. Because MA uses US release dates, the dates for that season can be more consistent, while irregularities like that can be noted in the background info.
Not that any of this is conclusive, but it hopefully gives you an idea of why it's just more practical for us to use the US dates.
On an unrelated note, I recommend you check out MA:TALK for info on how to properly indent you posts on talk pages.
Thank you for your well-written reply. Regards, 🖖 Mr. Starfleet Command (talkcontribs) 13:39, 30 June 2024 (UTC)

Thanks again for your reply and explanation. Glad my feedback was useful, and my apologies for my indent mistake. MadeIndescribable (talk) 14:02, 30 June 2024 (UTC)
