Ryan Eggold (born 10 August 1984; age 39) is an actor and musician who worked very early in his career as photo double for child actor Brady Bluhm on the Star Trek: Voyager first season episode "Time and Again". He received no credit for this work but is listed as "Photodbl. Latika" on the call sheets of the episode. He filmed his scenes on Friday 4 November 1994, Tuesday 8 November 1994, and Wednesday 9 November 1994 on Paramount Stage 9 and 16 and on location at Tillman Water Reclamation Plant. His photo double costume was later sold off at the It's A Wrap! sale and auction on eBay along with the costume of Bluhm. [1]

Eggold was born in Lakewood, California and attended Santa Margarita Catholic High School where he graduated in 2002. He professionally has started his acting career around twelve years after his work on Voyager, in 2006 when he guest-starred on episodes of Related (2006, with Anne Elizabeth Ramsay and Kristen Ariza), Brothers & Sisters (2006, with John Pyper-Ferguson, David Burke, and Michael Canavan), Veronica Mars (2006), and The War at Home (2006, with Marcelo Tubert). He also appeared in the short film Con: The Corruption of Shawn Helm (2006, with Christopher Ogden).

In 2007 he was featured as barista in three episodes of The Young and the Restless where he worked with Steve Vinovich. He also appeared in five episodes of Out of Jimmy's Head (2007), guest-starred in episodes of Nick Cannon Presents: Short Circuitz (2007), Entourage (2007-2008, with Deborah Lacey), and United States of Tara (2009), and in the short thriller Bloom (2008).

In 2008 Eggold had his first recurring lead role as Farber Kauffman in seven episodes of the second season of the drama series Dirt where he worked with Jeffrey Nordling, David Figlioli, Josh Clark, Bill T. Brown, Brian Vowell, Derek Magyar, John DeMita, and Mary Anne McGarry. Between 2008 and 2011 he starred as teacher Ryan Matthews in three seasons of 90210. Ann Gillespie, Michelle Hurd, Peyton List, Rebecca Wisocky, Dina Meyer, Kate Fuglei, Sally Kellerman, John Billingsley, Walter Tabayoyong, and Melissa Paulo also had recurring roles on this series.

Further film work includes the comedy First Dates (2010), the short drama Myself and I (2010), Trophy Kids (2011), Sironia (2011, with John Billingsley and Scott St. Blaze), the short drama Queen (2011), the television drama Heavenly (2011, with Gary Werntz), the drama Driving by Braille (2011, with Manu Intiraymi), Into the Dark (2012, with John Rubinstein and Robert Towers), the comedy B-Side (2013), the short romance Scent of a Woman (2013), Lucky Them (2013, co-produced by John Harrington Bland), the drama The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: Her (2013, with Bill Hader), Beside Still Waters (2013), The Single Moms Club (2014, with Marlene Forte and written by, directed, produced, and starring Tyler Perry), the drama The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: Them (2014, with Bill Hader), the short drama Home Is Where Your Heart Aches (2014), the short thriller The Girlfriend Game (2015), the war drama Battle Scars (2015), the short science fiction film Zero (2015), the drama Fathers & Daughters (2015, with Bruce Greenwood), and the drama Lovesong (2016).

In 2012, Eggold worked as producer, writer, director, and editor on the short drama Literally, Right Before Aaron, starring Manu Intiraymi. For this project he received the Grand Jury Award at the Gen Art Film Festival in 2012. Five years later in 2017, he wroten, directed, produced, and edited the long-film version, also titled Literally, Right Before Aaron and starring John Cho, Manu Intiraymi, Sam Hennings, and Ser'Darius Blain. He also worked on the music for this feature.

He starred as Ben Wilkins in the short-lived mystery series Daybreak (2012) and as Dr. Joseph Warren in Sons of Liberty (2015). Between 2013 and 2018, Eggold starred as Tom Keen in the first five seasons of The Blacklist where he worked with Benito Martinez, Enrique Murciano, Famke Janssen, Oded Fehr, Scottie Thompson, Leon Rippy, William Sadler, Bob Gunton, David Gautreaux, Caroline Lagerfelt, and Frank Williams. He also starred alongside Famke Janssen in The Blacklist: Redemption in 2017, with Terry O'Quinn, Tony Amendola, and Robert Verlaque.

In 2018, he worked on BlacKkKlansman. For this performance he earned a CinEuphoria Award nomination in the category Best Ensemble – International Competition in 2019. More recent projects include the drama Never Rarely Sometimes Always (2020) and the short comedy Phone Stack (2020, with Chelsea Harris). Eggold also has been a frequent guest in talk shows such as Talk Stoop (2017), Entertainment Tonight Canada (2018-2019), The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon (2018-2019), Live with Regis and Kathie Lee (2018-2019), Late Night with Seth Meyers (2019), Today (2014-2021), and Entertainment Tonight (2020-2021).

Since 2018, Eggold starred as Dr. Max Goodwin in the drama series New Amsterdam for which he won the Freedom of Expression – Honorary Award at the CinEuphoria Awards in 2020. He also directed the fourteenth episode of the second season, titled "Sabbath", in 2020. On New Amsterdam, Eggold worked with Star Trek alumni Daniel Dae Kim, Becky Ann Baker, Ethan Phillips, Maury Ginsberg, James Saito, Linda Thorson, Raphael Sbarge, and Caroline Lagerfelt.
