Phumzile Sitole (born 18 November 1989; age 34) is a South African actress who portrayed Diatta Ndoye in the third and fourth seasons of Star Trek: Discovery.

She is best known for her recurring role as Akers in the series Orange is the New Black, co-starring Kate Mulgrew and also featuring Lori Petty, Michael Harney, and Lauren Lapkus. She also appeared in a recurring role on The Good Fight.

In 2019, she appeared in a smaller guest role in an episode of Elementary alongside James Frain, and in 2020, a guest role in an episode of the crime series Bull.

According to Jonathan Frakes, who was interviewed by Wil Wheaton in TRR: "People of Earth": she had considered finding another job, as she felt that her acting had been less than successful, and when she auditioned for her role on Star Trek, she thought to herself that it would be her last role.

Her experience with playing Ndoye was so positive, however, that she decided to continue her acting career, which made Frakes happy that as a director of the episode she appeared in, he had a hand in changing her mind.
