Orientation liaison was a Starfleet title for officers that provided onboarding and tours to newly transferred junior officers.
Upon transferring to the USS Cerritos from Outpost 79 in 2380, Ensign D'Vana Tendi was instructed to report to Ensign Brad Boimler as her orientation liaison. Boimler and Beckett Mariner provided her a tour and overview of the ship, including showing her a master situation display, and to her bunk, located in the LD sleeping quarters. Boimler was to bring Tendi to Nurse Westlake for additional onboarding, though Mariner convinced them to visit the holodeck first. (LD: "Second Contact")
Later that year, Tendi was excited to serve as orientation liaison to new recruit Ensign Peanut Hamper and gave a similar tour of the Cerritos to the one she had received. When Peanut Hamper started fitting in and impressing Doctor T'Ana, Tendi considered her fulfillment of her role a success. (LD: "No Small Parts")
