Kur'leth

A kur'leth

The kur'leth was a type of Klingon sword, similar in shape to but longer than the mek'leth, with a second grip near the tip of the main blade.

In 2401, Worf wielded a kur'leth during his investigation into the theft of quantum tunneling technology from Daystrom Station for Operation: Daybreak, and the subsequent revelation of a terrorist plot against the Federation. He used it on M'talas Prime to defend Commander Raffi Musiker from Sneed's bodyguards, and to decapitate Sneed himself. (PIC: "Disengage", "Seventeen Seconds")

During a subsequent mission aboard a Borg cube, Worf was wounded by two Borg drones. Captain William T. Riker attempted to wield the kur'leth in his stead, but found it too heavy. Worf then revealed that he had a phaser hidden within the hilt. (PIC: "The Last Generation")

The kur'leth was originally designed by Dan Curry as a "Revised Mek'leth" before being renamed for its creator.[1] Its name was revealed by Terry Matalas on Twitter. The weapon is also named for Dan Curry.[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3OyKu1JoDDc ]
