Kensington Books (also known as Kensington Publishing) is an independent, family-owned book publisher of popular genres including thrillers, romance, historical fiction, cozy mysteries, true-crime, westerns, science-fiction, and speculative fiction that in 1996 published The Ultimate Trek Trivia Challenge for the Next Generation.

Kensington was founded in 1974 by Walter Zacharius (who had earlier founded genre paperback publisher Lancer Books) specializing in mass market romance published under its flagship Zebra Books imprint. [1] The company has grown over the years by acquiring other publishers including Pinnacle Books and Citadel Press, both of which it still maintains as active publishing imprints.
