Once while hiking on the cliffs of Cabo Rojo on Earth, Kashkooli came across an injured Hugh Culber, who had fallen about fifteen meters when a path had given way beneath his feet. Risking her life, Kashkooli climbed down the cliff to render aid to Culber. Finding an open puncture wound on Culber's left shoulder, Kashkooli stitched it closed with fishing line. The stitches later left what Culber's husband Paul Stamets called a "very sexy scar."
By rendering aid, Kashkooli influenced Culber to go to medical school and become a doctor. (DIS: "The Sound of Thunder")
