Durik was a Vulcan who served as an instructor at the Vulcan Science Academy during the 23rd century.
In 2259, Durik interviewed Christine Chapel for a two-month archaeological medicine fellowship sponsored by the VSA. He criticized her application essay for not precisely reproducing the wording of Roger Korby's three principles, and was unimpressed by her field experience.
Later, when Durik contacted Chapel again to inform her that she had not been selected for the fellowship, Chapel retorted that she had recently traveled to interdimensional space and encountered ancient medical knowledge from the Kerkhovians. Durik was intrigued, only to be told that he could read about Chapel's experience in her next paper. (SNW: "Charades")
