Boimler at the 2381 Command Conference afterparty
The Command Conference was an annual gathering of Starfleet admirals and capital ship officers on Starbase 25. It had been held for generations, since at least the 23rd century, and was renowned for its "epic afterparty" in Ballroom Alpha, called "the coolest, most prestigious party of the year."
In the 2260s, James T. Kirk and Spock once failed to gain entry to the party and wound up at a nearby bar, where they carved their names into the countertop.
In 2378, Admiral Slattery became so intoxicated at the party that he commandeered a light cruiser and made it "halfway to the Delta Quadrant" before he sobered up.
The 2381 Command Conference afterparty was DJed by Thadiun Okona. Attendance was restricted to officers from Luna-class starships or higher, though Captain Carol Freeman of the USS Cerritos had obtained an invitation due to her actions at the Battle of Kalla. Yet when she arrived, her name was not on the guest list and she was denied entry by the bouncer. Irked, Freeman later disrupted the party by having the Doopler emissary beamed there, whereupon he immediately began massively dooplercating.
Meanwhile, Ensigns Brad Boimler and Beckett Mariner planned to sneak into the party by having Boimler pose as his transporter clone William Boimler from the USS Titan. Boimler was allowed inside, but Mariner was not, and he eventually decided to leave and keep her company instead. They found themselves at the same bar visited by Kirk and Spock over a century earlier, and carved their names next to theirs. (LD: "An Embarrassment Of Dooplers")
