Steamed chadre kab

Steamed chadre'kab

Chadre'kab was a yellow-colored Talaxian delicacy. It could be prepared a number of ways, such as boiled, baked, stir-fried, steamed, or roasted.

When Seven of Nine's digestive system became operational again in 2374, The Doctor provided her with a list of dietary requirements, including 250 grams of glycoproteins consisting of 53% polypeptides and 26% fibrous glycogen. Neelix believed that chadre'kab would satisfy these requirements, as well as "providing a pleasurable culinary experience". He prepared it steamed, as he believed it would be easier on her stomach. The recipe for steamed chadre'kab had been in Neelix's family for generations. (VOY: "The Raven")

The Think Tank requested Neelix's recipe for chadre'kab as part of the payment for solving the "Hazari paradox" in 2375. (VOY: "Think Tank")

In 2376, steamed chadre'kab was served at Neelix's birthday party. (VOY: "The Haunting of Deck Twelve")

In 2377, Seven of Nine prepared a dinner for Kathryn Janeway, Chakotay, Tom Paris, and B'Elanna Torres. The third course was Luhvian quail in a truffle sauce, served with roasted chadre'kab. (VOY: "The Void")

Chadre'kab was named by Bryan Fuller. He named it after the term "corn on the cob" and the Star Wars species Chadra-Fan. (Information from Larry Nemecek)
